and put it in a drawer…’

The Person-Centred Approach
My name is Margaret Duston, and I’m a therapeutic counsellor trained in the Person-Centred Approach (PCA). This approach shares the belief that, with the right conditions we all have an innate potential for growth and change.
I strive to bring a warm, empathic, and non-judgemental attitude to this process. My hope is to cultivate a safe, confidential, and collaborative space, within which we can bring curiosity to your experience, and welcome parts of you that perhaps you’ve not previously felt safe or able to access. I see this as an explorative route to developing deeper self-understanding, self-compassion and trust in yourself.
There may be recurring patterns that do not serve you right now, and we can work together at your pace, to explore new ways of navigating your life and relationships in a way which feels authentic to who you are.
I am a white, cis-gendered woman, and I feel passionate about working with difference and diversity. I have experience working with neurodivergence, and clients from all walks of life. I want to understand how you experience and relate to the world in a way that respects and embraces your ethnicity, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
